Imagine you are invited to lunch at a friend’s cozy oceanfront cabin.
Only that friend is the son of a once-Michelin starred French chef, there are a hundred others invited, too, and there’s no ferry involved.
You’re starting to get the feel of La Régalade Sur Mer, a fish-forward restaurant that is the offspring of West Van stalwart La Regalade 10 minutes down the road.
Décor is eclectic (fireplace, painted crab shells, suspended row boat) and the view is of the West Vancouver Yacht Club.
We highly recommend the salmon fish and chips with a tempura prawn and frites in a custom paper cone ($14.50) with a carafe of crisp Uby Côtes du Gasogne ($17.50).
And while you’re there, pick him up the staff uniform: authentic, striped French navy sweaters by Saint James ($85).
Well, hellooooo sailor!
