That weekend on Salt Spring has us pining for a seaside second addressif
only we could shore up enough funds.
Instead of crying salty tears, were bringing the sea inside with 18
Karats latest home décor collection, Tafoni.
Named for the circular hollows that form on sea-weathered stone, the
collection is a stunning interpretation of the Gulf Islands rugged and
sculptural geologywhether it be vases adorned with glass barnacles
($435), earthenware bowls in organic shapes ($15) or chunky hand-knit
throws that evoke natures textures and colours ($180 – $230).
And the local designer’s love affair with the region didnt end there. To
coincide with the line, they created a coffee
table book by the same name further heralding the Islands natural
beauty through relevant facts, photography and poetry.
Thats our kind of swept away.
