Cow-Town Hummingbirds

February 25, 2009

Sure, rocking out to our iPod is fun, but nothing compares to singing
along at a live rock show.

So tonight, check out Calgarys indie band Beija
Flor
, a group that falls into the category of must-see live as
opposed to the CD will do.

The now six-member band released its second album last year called The
American
and has collaborated with Blue Rodeos Jim Cuddy and Greg
MacPherson of The Weakerthans.

Known for their melodic ballads mixed with a little rock and roll, our
sing-along favourite has to be Sunnyboy.

Now, if only the thought of mouthing the words at a concert didnt make
us cringe.

Beija Flor plays The Gait at Sait, 1301 16th Ave. NW, tonight for the
Anti-Gravity Project benefit show. Listen to Beija Flor here.
