The recurring nightmare goes like this: were onstage with Colin Mochrie
and Wayne Brady on Whose Line is it Anyway? when host Drew
Carey reveals the audience suggestion topic for the next scene. Our mind
goes blank and the audience stares in silence.
Luckily, we wont be attempting real-life improv anytime soon but we
still love watching the masters, so were heading to the Calgary
International Improv Festival.
Starting tonight, Calgarys The Improv Guild showcases Women in Improv;
other highlights include an improvised Jane Austen play by Los Angeles Impro,
Vancouver’s Theatresports
League and Edmonton’s Rapid
Fire Theatre with back-to-back shows tomorrow night.
Cue the hoedown.
Calgary International Improv Festival runs until October 3 at the
Engineered Air Theatre at the Epcor Centre. Get tickets here.
