Market Dash

December 19, 2012

We braved the snow (hey, we’re Vancouverities – that’s a big deal!) for
a sneak peek at South Granville’s new West Elm Market (only the second
one in North America). Filled with the type of sundries we can’t resist
– from cleaning products to cookware – we are stocking up on, well,
everything.

Just like the Brooklyn location, shoppers are
encouraged to grab a coffee and hang out at the harvest tables playing
cards.

Like a small town dry goods store, it carries everything from mops to
matches.

White enamel metal dishware is "campy" in a good way.

We’re on a roll.

Whisk
it good.

Paper baking pans perfect for hostess gifts. Coffee cake anyone?

This
Dutch oven ($99) designed by the UK’s Aaron Probyn for West Elm Market
is going under our Christmas tree.

There’s
even a section for the urban farmer.

Here’s
VP of Merchandising Shane Brogan, who sourced many of the artisanal
goods from Brooklyn where West Elm is based, doing finishing touches
just hours before the doors open.

West
Elm Market opens Thursday, December 21, 2951 Granville St., Vancouver, www.westelm.com
