Warhol in Calgary

January 16, 2013

Arts and culture are alive in the city of Calgary! Along with the High
Performance Rodeo, Exposure Photography Festival and several other
notable events, I had to share this incredible exhibition currently at
the Museum of Contemporary Art at City Hall in the heart of downtown
Calgary.

Warhol
has arrived with his entourage for a stunning and iconic exhibition of
Andy Warhol’s portraits of athletes. Everyone from OJ Simpson to Wayne
Gretzky is featured on the crisp tall walls of this virtuistic gallery.

Also sharing the space is some of Calgary’s reknown art talents such as
Chris Cran and Shelley Oullett presenting their Warhol-inspired pieces.
Besides, the bright and poppy paintings of athletes you can also catch a
glimpse of the famous portraits of Chairman Mao and Queen Elizabeth II.

We even spotted a Warhol lookalike in the crowd.
