Flowers and Trees by George Vergette

May 10, 2013

Last night we checked out George Vergette’s latest exhibition at Gallery
Jones. Named after the first commerically released film shot in the
Technicolor 3 strip process (Flowers and Trees by Disney in
1932), the show features acrylic paintings on canvas and resin on panel.

Bold, textured colours appeared to be layered one on top of the other.

The resin pieces (above and below), in deep hues of blue, reflected the
crowd in the room.

We all left feeling like we need a bit more colour on our walls.

Flowers and Trees by George Vergette, at Gallery Jones, 1725 West
Third Avenue. Flowers and Trees will run May 8th to 25th.
