We cooked up a storm with Canadas Top Chef participant Clement Chan.
Shaw Friends contest winners were invited to a cooking class taught by
Clement, the chef tournant at Fairmont Pacific Rim, the owner of Le
Tigre Truck and wearer of Hello Kitty glasses. The glasses he says are
now a trademark for Le Tigre, a way to differentiate themselves among
the growing number of food carts in Vancouver. Here’s Clement demo-ing
our first dish: Pad Thai.
The experience was fun and welcoming, unlike the Food Network television
series, where Clement was eliminated too soon in the competition.
The Dirty Apron cooking class provided all the ingredients measured out,
leaving us to do only the fun part: cooking, teamwork and conversations.

Global news co-host Sophie Lui hosted the event, also playing judge for
our second dish, a salmon miso chowder.
