The quaint Bar Buca, located only steps away from its mother restaurant, is an Italian-style all-day eatery, serving up delectable pastries and espresso in the morning, and turning into a boisterous wine bar in the evening.
Opting for a night out, our appetites opened up with Bar Buca’s Negroni-esque cocktail called Dolceamaro ($12), a concoction of Martini Rosso, Montenegro, prosecco and orange. Then we worked through the Fritti (never pass up fried goods!) portion of the menu, with Bianchetti ($5), young smelts, and Carciofi ($6), fried artichokes with bergamont dip. Melty Mozzarella ($7) skewers proved equally irresistible paired with an aromatic lemon leaf. The next morning, with happy stomach memories, we returned for an espresso.
