Having eaten our fair share of dim sum, we were très curious to taste renowned chef Susur Lee’s take on dumplings and spring rolls at his new Luckee Restaurant in Toronto’s Soho Metropolitan Hotel.
What can we say? Perfection. The plump siu mai arrived in the most delicate of steamed wraps, practically melting in our mouths. And the chicken cheung fun—such a thing of beauty, its chewy rice giving way to a crispy tofu interior, culminating in a delicious finale of chicken, ginger and green onion.
This food is so refined, we felt guilty for stuffing our faces with it—but we can’t help getting giddy when presented with such goodness. —Karen Kwan
