Montreal is home to one of the world’s biggest and best jazz festivals. This much we know.
But ask us about the history of the musical genre in the city or the key players that have impacted its story and we haven’t a clue. This is why we’re jumping at the opportunity to learn more by taking a Montreal Jazz History Walking Tour ($20 until July 6th) hosted by local tour guide and history grad Leah Blythe. The tour offers a unique chance to trace the history of the genre from prohibition to the creation of the festival in 1980.
We’re, er, jazzed. —Christine Laroche
