There’s something to be said for eating with your fingers.
Like the dishes at its sister resto, 416 Snack Bar, the new Peoples Eatery menu is meant to be eaten sans cutlery. From Jewish (we thought the smoked white fish salad atop crisp bagel toast with wasabi tobiko was simply superb) to Chinese (the General Tso-fu cubes were sticky ‘n’ satisfying) to Middle Eastern (try the messy-but-worth-it sabich—a pita topped with eggplant, quail egg and herbs). Add loud music and a chill crowd, and you’ve got yourself a fun dining experience (the juicy Singapore Slings help, too).
When it comes to lip-smacking snacking, we can ditch being dainty. —Karen Kwan
