It’s been a long time coming, but Edmonton’s first three-day farmers’ market has finally opened downtown.
The quaint and eclectic Mother’s Market operates year-round indoors, with not one but two levels of locally produced goods for the choosing. Find veggies, fruits, herbs and flowers, fine cheeses, meats and eggs all produced in the Edmonton area, on level one, then venture upstairs for handmade jewelry, clothes, soaps and art, or grab some grub at hot food vendors serving up everything from bannock to tacos. The assorted mix of vendors and chatty farmers and artisans makes for an especially interesting peruse. Start your shopping trip with a coffee from local fave Transcend, positioned strategically at the front door.
