Few of life’s pleasures surpass summer evenings spent dining al fresco in the mountains and, with Whistler just a scenic skip away, we’re spoiled for choice when it comes to lovely little patios on which to clink cocktails in the warm, pine-scented night:
on the green: Table Nineteen, the freshly renovated eatery at Nicklaus North Golf Course, sprawls its sun-drenched patio across soft grass and toward the glossy, glacial waters of Green Lake. Fare is refined country-club (local shrimp cocktail comes gussied with grapefruit and ginger) and the crescendoing mountain range around it makes for a glorious atmosphere.
in the hub: Indulge in life’s simple pleasures—alpine air, hearty food. Longhorn Saloon’s location at the base of Whistler in Skier’s Plaza makes it the perfect spot to whittle away lazy evenings watching mud-splattered mountain bikers and bronzed, grinning locals amble past. Plus, great nachos. Garibaldi Lift Co. offers similar people watching and un-missable burgers (get the “sassy sauce”).
at the edge: Cure Lounge at Creekside’s flawless Nita Lake Lodge is a getaway within a getaway, with nothing in sight save for lush verdancy and a sapphire lake so close you can nibble your grilled cactus quesadillas and sip craft ale while the kids cannonball off the dock.
