Nothing beats diving from a dock into cool, clear, aquamarine water.
Whistler’s blessed with some spectacular lakes—free of tides and currents and carpeted by smooth, timeworn stones, they’re a great place for swimmers of all ages to take a refreshing dip (and maybe catch a minnow).
Postcard-worthy Lost Lake and Alta Lake, as well as Lakeside Park, are outfitted with showers and barbeques to help you set up and get comfortable for a lazy summers’ day. For a pick-up game of volleyball swing by Alpha Lake Park or Rainbow Park, two great places for ball sports. There’s concession, too, but we recommend swinging by Nesters Market on your way for barbecue fixings, local cherries and magazines.
At Nita Lake Lodge, guests can take full advantage of the water with complimentary rental fishing rods, standup paddle boards and canoes.
Forgot to pack a swimsuit? The Beach boutique in Whistler Village is our favourite spot for snagging a cute suit, like this sunset-forest printed Jericho Surf Suit ($175) by Squamish designer Ocean Folk. —Adrienne Matei
