10 Reasons to Visit Four Seasons Resort & Residences Whistler

July 21, 2014

d1The Four Seasons Whistler just turned 10 and, to celebrate, has launched a whole portfolio of exciting new services, adventures, free perks and bonuses available until Labour Day. We headed to the mountains to investigate.

1. Join special foodie excursions to Pemberton’s North Arm Farm, where we picked delicious alpine strawberries. Chef will even take your bounty into the kitchen and whip up a meal from the local terroir.

2. “It’s Wine O’Clock” complimentary wine tastings every day—need we say more?

3. If you’ve celebrated something special at the hotel before, you’ll want to take a trip down meal memory lane with the 10 “Greatest Hits” cocktail and food pairings from the culinary archives at Fifty Two 80 Eatery and Bar.

24. Weekly all-you-can-eat Thursday BBQs ($29) with live music from bands like Hairfarmers and a massive, wood-burning grill (if chef’s grilling up a suckling pig, do ask for the jowls. We also highly recommend the cooked-to-perfection salmon). In honour of the anniversary, 10% of proceeds go to the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation.

5. Up your short game between courses with putting tips from a pro at the new Nicklaus North Putting Green right on the patio (these were a popular diversion).

6. Lifelong learning is a real thing with chef-led rub-making and grilling classes and mixology lessons with the bartenders. Looking to go right to source? Tours and tastings at Whistler Brewing Company and Pemberton Distillery are part of the Locavore Package.

7. Kids can get crafty with free stone-carving classes from professional artists—not something you happen upon every day, that’s for sure.

pool and hotel8. Chance of showers? It might be Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs at the free family movie nights, now playing weekends on the big screen in the library.

9. Expect an even better poolside experience this summer with sharply uniformed servers and snappy service. The mojito never tasted so good.

10. Glutton for relaxation? Totally understandable. Plan for a spa special so good, it hardly makes sense: an 80-minute massage with 10 extra minutes of bliss tacked on and a 10% discount whipped off. Yes, please.

Alright, who’s in? —Sarah Bancroft
