Scotland circa 1947: fringe—a tradition of fun, uncensored theatre productions—is born.
Canada circa 2014: the Calgary Fringe Festival means 26 local, national and international productions and 160 performances held over nine days. Most shows take place around the Inglewood area at theatres, gallery and even a cafe. Don’t miss “Eavesdrop: The Coffee Shop Show,” which takes places in Gravity Café. To boot, the Inglewood Sun Fest is back on August 2nd with buskers, vendors and food.
Long live the fringe! —Sara Samson
