Trust Toronto’s reigning queen of macarons to take the city’s favourite French fancies and turn them into works of art.
The just-launched Nadège limited-edition artist box ($38) contains 16-rainbow hued macarons featuring the work of local creatives from textile-ist Virginia Johnson to shoe designer Jerome C. Rousseau and animator Brandon James Scott. With packaging this pretty, it’s hard to play favourites, but Johnson’s delicate whimsy is hard to resist.
It’s the perfect hostess gift if you’re heading up north … if it makes it beyond Barrie. —Athena Tsavliris
