We’re fired up for the 2014 Montreal Fashion and Design Festival Mode et Design, on at Place des Festivals August 20th to 23rd.
The fashion fest spotlights dozens of local/world labels, with multifarious brands and designers displaying their work via al-fresco fashion shows and pop-up shops along the catwalk. Find us rifling through the outdoor market (daily, 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.) for the perfect piece of body jewelry from Jane & Rye and bed sheets that are like a grownup version of what we would’ve loved to have slept on as kids from Kozza Textile (pictured, right).
While most events are free, consider paying a $25 fee to see Nathalie Rykiel, daughter of infamous designer Sonia Rykiel, wax poetic on literature, art and the fashion industry. She’ll even sign your copy of her latest book, L’Élégance, as a souvenir.
