We’ve got October 31st picks to suit every scare threshold in town.
with (brave) kids: Who know Calgary had such a creepy past? Follow a cloak-wearing, lantern-swinging guide through some of the city’s most haunted neighbourhoods (hopefully not yours!) on a Calgary Ghost Tour. www.calgaryghosttours.com
without kids: ScreamFest is a PG13 event that lands on the scary side of Halloween. The Grandstand Building on Stampede Grounds is transformed into a living nightmare with multiple haunted houses, creepy entertainment and Halloween-themed games. Zombie paintball anyone? www.screamfest.ca
on the town: If you’re looking to let loose on November 1st, the Halloween Howler Club Crawl’s gonna be your scene. Join this mobile party as it takes you to four different venues to watch various DJs perform. www.bustloose.com
out of town: Costume up, hop in the car and hit up the annual Halloween Bonfire and Fireworks in Banff. Warm up by the fire, snack on hot dogs / chocolate and watch the fireworks show that starts around 8 p.m. www.banff.ca
