So what if all your friends are Facebooking pictures from Cabo? Show them your own local winter-fun repertoire: snowshoeing and fondue at the top of the Sea to Ski Gondola in Squamish, B.C.
The 12-minute ride offers gorgeous views of Howe Sound and The Chief, while eagles migrating to nearby Brakendale soar past.
There are five free snowshoeing trails and the Sprit Trail for walkers, an old-school tube park (drag that tube back up with you), plus rock climbing and backcountry skiing for the more adventurous.
Vistas from several viewing platforms and a suspension bridge include the majestic surrounding peaks such as the dauntingly beautiful Sky Pilot.
Head in to the toasty Summit Lodge lodge for fondue and a Sky Pilot beer, brewed in collaboration with the local Howe Sound Brewing.
Make sure to stop at the “Selfie Station” where you can snap a pic of yourself on what is surely one of Canada’s most impressive outdoor dining decks.
