Did you know that Cafe Medina proprietor Robbie Kane’s wife’s name is Medina?
You did? OK, how about this: they met after the cafe opened. As in, Medina was walking down the street, saw the new cafe, went inside going, "Nothing ever has my name on it," and the rest is history. And you thought the story was romantic in it’s first iteration. Sigh. Clearly, Cafe Medina has primo romantic voodoo, so this Valentine’s Day when it opens up their ridiculously charming spot up for an exclusive five-course dinner, that’s where you and whoever you text just to say "hi" need to be. The bistro’s signature Mediterranean-inspired fare will include slow-roasted, Ras el Hanout-spiced beef short ribs and quince-curd polenta cake with wildflower honey and salted caramel. Just add you and yours, laughing and batting your eyelashes in the candlelight.
Sound dreamy? We’re giving away two tickets for Valentine’s Dinner at Cafe Medina, a $250 value, to one lucky winner in the VIP Room. —Adrienne Matei
