Is your Valentine the light of your life?
Ours certainly is, and we’re planning to let them know with show-stopping, one-of-a-kind antique lighting from Renew—the reincarnation of Main Street’s famed Vancouver Architectural Antiques Ltd. Browsing the Mount Pleasant showroom, we spotted a bounty of love-themed stock. Our top picks: a circa-1900 golden cherub figural light fixture that Cupid himself would covet ($9,500, pictured); a Northwood heart-patterned glass bowl ($3,600) that used to hang in a heritage home in Montreal’s Westmount district (how romantic!); an early 20th-century American-made light fixture with an arts-and-craftsy heart motif ($3,500); and, finally, a deep-pink Art Nouveau bowl fixture from the ’30s that made us blush—in a good way ($1,850).
Your love will be all aglow. —Noa Nichol
