You may have seen Ola Volo‘s work around; the 25-year-old illustrator and Emily Carr grad has created commercial pieces for locals like Lululemon, SAD Mag and Vancouver Folk Music Festival, as well as expansive murals across the city.
But beginning February 5th, her intricate, folkloric dreamscapes will be shown in their independent, creative glory at Make. Volo’s new body of work explores the complex personal environments of imagined characters. Animals, people, nature and architecture elaborately intersect in breathtaking, narrative works you’ll get lost in.
Prepare to stare. —Adrienne Matei
