Edmonton’s food scene is overflowing with vibrant and delicious culinary offerings from some seriously talented chefs. And &27 (that’s Ampersand 27) is no exception.
A menu bursting with locally sourced produce crafted into reimagined traditional fare has made this Whyte Avenue eatery tops in the city since opening less than six months ago. Just make sure you take someone you like to dinner; two-thirds of the menu is dedicated to shared plates, like an Arctic Char crudo served raw with fried avocado and a mouthwatering sesame crisp. For your own meal, the pork chop with bourbon butter and garlic mash is nothing short of amazing. And don’t you dare pass up &27’s ample charcuterie offerings. A long list of cheeses and house-cured meats alongside homemade bread, chutneys and pickles will knock your socks off. Finally, for dessert, two words: red velvet.
Your next gang get-together deliciously sorted. —Amy Dillon
