Westmounters rejoice! The recent opening of Lucille’s Brasserie on Ste. Catherine and Wood means we no longer have to schlep to Monkland to get our shellfish fix.
The richly decorated resto was buzzing on our recent visit, with diners drooling over towering seafood platters, retro wedge salads and garlicky steamed clams. Salmon gravlax served in velvety cubes topped with crisp watercress and a crispy egg oozed vibrant yolk at the touch of our knife while a stuffed-to-bursting lobster roll served with crispy fries evoked a taste of summer in this neverending freeze. For meat lovers, an intense steak menu features mix ‘n’ match sauces and sides (think spicy onion rings and matchstick potatoes) and an open rotisserie churns out a constant supply of mouthwatering chicken.
Time for our pals in NDG to trek out our way for a change. —Jennifer Nachshen
