This Thursday April 23rd, Global Civic will be hosting the 22nd edition of Vancouver’s Public Salon; an evening of compelling short speeches by some of the city’s most fascinating characters.
We’re big fans (and proud sponsors) of the event, namely because while attending, we always learn new things about the city we love and the people working to improve and contribute to the community. This week’s event is looking very promising, with eight featured speakers, including YEW Seafood at The Four Seasons chef Ned Bell, Etienne van Eck, former bodyguard to Nelson Mandela (who saw the transformation of South Africa from an undoubtably unique vantage point) and author, journalist, and former Vancouver magazine editor Gary Ross, whose passion for effective communication bodes well for entertaining oration. And that’s just a teaser; each speech offers a nuanced perspective on a facet of Vancouver you may never have considered.
With musical breaks by Fringe Percussion and plenty of stories to be told, make sure to get your tickets to Global Civic’s 22nd Public Salon today. —Adrienne Matei
