Postmark Brewing is becoming a veritable lifestyle brand, and we’re into it.
Everything the brewery represents feels highly relevant to our interests. Its new line of bottles, decorated with West Coast aspirational photography by Whistler-based artist Owen Perry, depict regional scenes, like mile-hile bonfires at Tofino’s Curl Pro surf fest and misty temperate rainforest. There’s no denying that, when it comes to stocking your cooler, Postmark’s new bottles win the pretty award, as do their new cans of Blonde (which are a solid turquoise blue). The beer delivers in taste, too: the Blonde is malty with a refreshing bitterness and a hint of something grassy and bright. Our favourite, the West Coast Pale Ale, is bone-dry with a creamy froth and a crisp, citrus-hoppy profile. The brewery itself, attached to Belgard Kitchen, is a great spot to hang out and get a meal, or pick up a copy of new (free!) craft beer handbook The Growler. The Postmark team even has a Soundcloud presence boasting curated playlists so on-point, we successfully used them to soundtrack our last party.
From camping trips and barbecues to afternoons crabbing on the dock and bonfire-lit nights, we think Postmark’s going to have a strong presence this summer. —Adrienne Matei
