Located on the edge of Westwood and Alberta Avenue is a sweet neighborhood resto that serves up big taste with equally large heart.
Native Delights is an unpretentious burger joint owned by electrician-turned-food-cart-owner-turned-chef Christopher Ian Gladue. After a few years successfully slinging his now-famous bannock burgers and "Rez Dogs" at Churchill Square, Gladue took the plunge and set up a bricks-and-mortar locale. On offer: his juicy all-natural, grass-fed beef and bison burgers (try the swiss, bacon, mushroom bannock burger on a bannock bun slathered with finger-licking-yum mushroom sauce), locally made Mother Earth Essential herbal teas and bison jerky or "pansawan"—a traditional Bigstone Cree First Nation staple.
Bonus: the Nintendo Retron 5 gaming console is free for customer use. —Miranda Post
