A weekend away with my husband filled with sleeping in, yoga, movies and wine tasting is my idea of bliss. Our recent trip to Whistler, B.C. had all of that, but what made it even sweeter was that I’d just signed up for the Scotiabank Gold American Express Card, which gave me 20,000 points (that’s $200 toward travel) and no annual fee for the first year. Needless to say, I was eager to put the card to use earning points toward even more travel.
Over the weekend we checked out the new Whistler Village store, Provisions, stocked with all the ski season essentials (think Stanley thermoses, Herschel backpacks and classic Ray-Bans.) We’ll be needing them STAT: look at that snow!
On our stroll through the village we passed Araxi’s newly opened Bar Oso (right next to Aritzia) which will be the perfect spot for our après ski charcuterie fix. After a morning Cornucopia wine tasting seminar, we capped off the weekend with a champagne brunch at The Chateau Whistler before heading home to reality. By using my Amex Gold to pay for dinner I got four points / $1 spent on my meal!
