You thought organizing your monthly book club with five girlfriends was tough? Imagine organizing one globally, with 30,000 members. That’s exactly what The Girly Book Club does every month, across the world.
Founded by Canadian Erin Woodward, The Girly Book Club has chapters dotted across Canada (including Toronto and Vancouver), the U.S., U.K., Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, New Zealand, and, most recently, Rome.
Woodward founded the organization after moving to the U.K. and missing her book club back home in Canada, and it quickly snowballed into the biggest of its kind. Once a month, people in cities across the globe get together to talk about the monthly read, chosen by global vote. And these clubs aren’t restricted to big cities; all you need is a group of like-minded women who love reading to start your own chapter.
Not only do gatherings take place around the latest and best reads, but thanks to their relationship with top publishers, clubs can get their hands on advance copies as well as host author events with the brightest stars in modern female literature.
