Blowfish reborn

June 9, 2016

Everyone’s fave Japanese hot spot Blowfish is back again.

After a few months of tweaking, the King West resto has gone through a little revamp (think a little more sultry and mysterious) and relaunches now with a new chef. Daniel Ken hails from Brazil, and you’ll notice some Latin American touches to the food, that is if you were to take a second to consider the flavours including the corn fritters and ebi shooters enclosed in pretty pink rice paper wraps before scarfing down the tasty fare. A sure hit? Their signature cocktail, The Fusion Mule, a tropical refresher made of vodka, cointreau, rhubarb passion ginger cordial, lime juice and ginger beer.

Sake to me, Blowfish, with that Japanese fusion of yours. —Karen Kwan
