Uccellino

Daniel Costa has added another eatery to his Italian food empire in Edmonton. Uccellino joins Costa’s other two wildly popular restaurants, Corso 32 and Bar Bricco on Jasper Avenue in a beautiful split level space. Where the older siblings focus on upscale dishes, the heart of Uccellino is casual, traditional Italian food. Half the restaurant is set for reservations while the other is kept for walk-ins so plan ahead or just pop over on a whim.

Sharing is encouraged of course but there’s an abundance of choices that you can keep all to yourself. The menu offers numerous crostini options, homestyle salads—we loved the Panzanella—and a few seriously delectable pasta dishes. Do yourself a favour and try the pig’s head and chorizo pasta (not as gruesome as it sounds, trust us) as well as the juicy flavourful pork meatballs. To top it off, grab the pear and almond tart.
