We have more than just a passing fascination with the monarchy here at VITA, so you can imagine our delight when we discovered that Netflix had thrown fiscal prudence out the window to make an original series about the ascension of young Queen Elizabeth II, and all the family drama that came with it. If you don’t watch it for the dirty laundry, watch it for the costumes: Netflix spent roughly $37,000 creating an exact replica of the Queen’s 1947 wedding dress (right down to the 10,000 seed pearls patterning the gown).
