1. Admire ice carvings and hand-painted murals, take in live music and sip on a hot cocoa at the Ice on Whyte Festival. There’s even a giant ice slide!
2. Celebrate French Canadian and Mètis traditions and embrace winter city culture when the Flying Canoë Volant graces the beautiful Mill Creek Ravine.
3. Hit the ice to a live sountrack of jazz, swing and big band tunes. City Hall’s Sunday Swing and Skates are free, as are skate rentals.
4. The runaway Broadway smash Kinky Boots arrives this month, with shows running February 14 to 19. Take your love for Valentine’s Day and see what all the fuss is about.
5. Valentine’s Day, visit Edmonton Valley Zoo for Where the Wild Things Art. Enjoy a glass of wine while creating your own animal-themed painting.
6. It’s back and even bigger than last year. The Ice Castle at Hawrelak Park lets you explore beautifully lit hallways and tunnels of ice under the stars.
7. The Edmonton Wine Festival lets you to try before you buy as you meander among booths, educating your palette. Hors d’oeuvres are also served. Win win!
8. Ring in the Year of the Rooster at the Muttart Conservatory with an epic fireworks display and zodiac show.
9. Have an outdoor adventure right in the heart of downtown. The city is offering a guided moonlight snowshoe walk through Victoria Golf Course followed by a three-course Nordic dinner.
10. Strap on your skates and take a leisurely glide through the trees along a 400-metre figure-eight path at the Victoria Park IceWay.
