We’ve never stopped shopping at Gap—it’s our go-to for everyday jeans, hardwearing exercise gear and simple dresses. Still, it’s fair to say that the 1990s were the brand’s heyday, with über-cool Individuals of Style ads and that infamous red-carpet moment when Sharon Stone paired a button-down Gap shirt with a Vera Wang skirt for the 1998 Oscars.
Now that the decade is back in style (think berry lips and chokers) it’s no surprise that Gap is looking to its glory years for its latest limited-edition collection. The ’90s Archive Re-Issue includes iconic styles like the bodysuit, reverse fit and easy fit denim, pleated khakis and pocket tees. To go along with it, a Generation Gap film pays homage to classic campaigns, featuring the offspring of original ad alums like Jerry Hall (daughter Lizzy Jagger), Demi Moore (daughter Rumer Willis), Kim Gordon (daughter Coco) and Diana Ross (son Evan).
Queen of them all? Naomi Campbell, the face of Gap in 1992, wearing the very same pocket tee she sported for that shoot. —Aileen Lalor
