While Valentine’s Day—actually, any—bouquets are lovely, they often veer into overpriced and slightly tacky territory. Stiff roses and baby’s breath, anyone?
So what’s a girl to do if she wants to brighten up her Insta/room/day with beautiful blooms? Order from Oursin Fleurs. Although novel, the Montreal startup’s concept is simple: every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, a photo of the "bouquet of the day" is broadcast on social media at 9 a.m. Get your order in and the flowers will come to you that very afternoon via bike or electric car ($40, including delivery). The means of transportation isn’t the only eco-friendly perk: the natural-looking arrangements feature farm fresh, locally grown blooms. Also, memberships for four, eight or a dozen bouquets (a.k.a. the world’s greatest Valentine’s gift) are available.
