The stars who descend on Park City, Utah, every January for the Sundance Film Festival are well versed in the incredible food, adventure and fun this hot ski spot has to offer. A mere 45-minute drive from the Salt Lake City airport (i.e., an early flight could see you on the slopes that same afternoon), this old mining town is a charmer even non-ski bunnies will love. —Karen Kwan

stay. The joining of Park City Mountain Resort with Canyons Resort in 2015 to form Park City created one massive mountain experience with a variety of slopes to swish down. Book a room at the Grand Summit Hotel on the Canyons Village side of the mountain and enjoy easy access to a range of restos, cosy bars tin which to grab an après ski drink and even hot pools to soak your ski-weary body in.

savour. Recently opened Harvest has all of the fresh and clean interior design (crisp tiles, mid-century modern chairs and touches of greenery) that wins Insta likes, not to mention snap-worthy food (try the plentiful buddha bowl filled with gorgeous produce). In Canyons Village reserve a seat in the yurt at The Farm and feast on a menu focused on sustainably raised local goods; warm mushrooms and brussel sprouts hit the spot on a cold winter night, or opt for the juicy tomahawk pork chop or braised short rib.

sip. Take the free shuttle into town and head to High West: the first legal distillery in Utah since the 1870s. Order a Dead Man’s Boots (a refreshing—and strong—margarita and Moscow mule combo) to go with such stick-to-your-ribs meal options as deviled eggs, sriracha-glazed wings, chicken schnitzel fried to crispy perfection and creamy mac ‘n’ cheese. Before rolling yourself back to the resort take a walk around the saloon and distillery—the now-combined buildings are mostly original from the early 1900s.

shop. Look for not one but two works by Banksy along historic Main Street while you shop chic lifestyle retailers like Park City Mercantile (cool terrarium vessels), Juniper Ridge (natural soaps and cosy Faribault blankets) and Vail-based Gorsuch (eclectic décor and mountain-chic fashion). sweat. An excursion with Park City Yoga Adventures will see you showshoe through a winter wonderland to the 10,000-year-old Homestead Crater: a 55-foot-high dome containing a mineral-rich hot spring that maintains a temp of 90 F year-round. Once inside, strip down to your swimsuit for a standup paddleboard yoga session that will work your core. Best of all, losing your balance and tipping into the warm water makes for an unforgettable savasana.
