There’s a million sparkling reasons to head to the Chanel boutique in Vancouver’s Holt Renfrew this May.
The fashion house’s dazzling high jewelry line (a step up in price from its also-gorgeous-but-more-affordable-for-most fine jewelery offerings), featuring a range of glittering pieces that fall under the theme of Black & White, is on display (and up for sale) there for the remainder of the month. We were invited to preview the collection—and, to our delight, try on some of these, in many cases, multimillion-dollar beauties, including this diamond-encrusted Midnight cuff, with an Art Deco-ish floral motif, from Chanel’s Café Society collection (which, by the way, fit perfectly) and a Lion Talisman necklace in white gold, set with black and white diamonds, from the Les Intemporels collection. We learned that Coco Chanel was, to a degree, superstitious, and surrounded herself with symbols that she believed would protect her and bring her good luck, including the camellia blooms and lions (her astrological sign was Leo) seen in so many of her high designs.
Trust us, this is some can’t-miss bling—even if you’re "just looking." —Noa Nichol
