Petits Vilains We Love

September 4, 2017

It may seem like a new kids’ clothing brand is a dime a dozen these days (particularly where celebrities are concerned) but this one—trust us—is different.

Petits Vilains, launched by best-friends-since-kindergarten Rachel Shamash and Jennifer Christie (the latter a former Aritzia designer and both, bien sûr, moms), is a line for kids age one to seven that takes timeless silhouettes and gives them a modern twist. Each piece—from tops to trousers to tunics—is made in Vancouver using natural/organic materials where possible and, best of all, featuring a relaxed fit with room to grow (many designs will last two years on the same child). Among our top picks:

petits vilains

the inès pinafore dress ($98). A classic kiddie staple with a softly gathered full skirt, ruffled straps and a wide hem in corduroy, we love the generous pockets for collecting treasures and adjustable straps in the back.

petits vilains

claude overalls ($98). Corduroy, boasting a harem dropped crotch with a gusset for comfort and climbing, the pant legs on these awesome overalls look great rolled or cropped.

petits vilains

aw x pv treasure purse ($70). It’s soft, pink, it’s kid-sized—it’s the perfect first purse and our daughter would go gaga for it. What can we say: ooh la la!
