We’re having a hard time living in the moment when we’re so darn keen to wear pieces from Marc Cain‘s Spring/Summer 2018 collection. The Germany-based label has always appealed to our personal preference for Euro fashion sensibility, and now the brand is clearly winning over Canadians nationwide. With two successful years in the True North market, MC is expanding with three more stores (and possibly even more in 2018).
For spring, clothes and accessories in playful patterns, including animal prints, blossoms and stripes, get further embellished with brooches and oversized flower details. The collection’s handbags with rhinestones and studs and boxy shapes are a whimsical way to make any outfit stand out. From a silver leather jacket to vibrant and summery this-calls-for-a-vacay rompers—not to mention details like embroidery and tweed judiciously accenting the spring pieces—the Marc Cain woman is decidedly not one who wants to hide in the shadows.
And, to accompany the label’s first fragrance line, Mysteriously (a trio of three fragances—we’ll be posting more about this in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out!), is a small collection of youthful, girly pieces. Think pastels and tulle that’ll appeal to the inner princess in all of us.
Winter is coming, but spring is on our minds. So, without fuerther adieu, four of our favourite pieces from the SS18 collection below. —Karen Kwan
