So … we just had the best lunch ever. Delivered right to our office door.
Culinary Capers has been our catering go-to for, well, as long as we can remember, and now this Vancouver special-event-foods maker is offering something new: a delivery menu chock-full of energizing, clean-eating, mouthwatering dishes, from breakfast to baked goods, sandwiches to salad bars and everything in-between. Our meal arrived in shiny, environmentally friendly Tiffins (stacked stainless-steel lunch boxes that keep food warm and fresh) with cutlery (all of which was later picked up by CC staff), and consisted of three hot main-course power bowls: one vegan, boasting grilled portobello mushroom, smoked onion and tomato salsa, tender multigrain pilaf and greens; one featuring a perfectly cooked hangar steak satay on coconut rice with shaved watermelon radish and green beans; and a third soy-marinated Atlantic cod number with fragrant jasmine rice, daikon, avocado and other tasty tidbits. Not one was a miss and, trust us, we finished every single bite. And dessert? Both the sesame date and the peanut butter almond bars were vegan, gluten-free and utterly delicious.
With today’s corporate meal-delivery landscape saturated, we’re thrilled to see a homegrown biz get its onion skin in the game—and set itself apart with thoughtful, nutritious, tummy-filling, yummy-tasting food, to boot. —Noa Nichol
