From live music to pro decorating tips, kid-friendly activities to an on-site nursery (of the tree-trimming variety), free parking to gift-wrapping services, Breakfast With Santa (and the Mrs., too!) to a whopping 200-plus vendors hocking gifts for every single person on your list (seriously), there’s so much we’re looking forward to seeing and doing at the West Coast Christmas Show & Artisan Marketplace this weekend, November 17 to 19, at Tradex in Abbotsford, British Columbia.
But one brand-new feature we’re particularly excited to check out this year is a series of rooms decked out in vintage holiday style by local décor experts, plus additional artisan booths offering vintage-inspired gifts (hey, we’re suckers for a good Christmas past). Read more about some of these vintage vendors below, then be sure to follow the contest-entry link for your chance to win an incredible prize pack! See you at the show! —Noa Nichol
madeline bee. This South Surrey home store is "is a feast for the tasteful eye," boasting a gorgeous collection of dècor both old and new (think repurposed furniture, handmade signs, luxe upholstery and even custom paint finishes). We absolutely cannot wait to see what Madeline Bee‘s full-to-the-max vintage dining room at the West Coast Christmas Show will, well, "bee"!
tucker wood co. This Abbotsford-based business involves a husband-and-wife team who handcrafts custom farmhouse furniture on their own family farm in beautiful Mt. Lehman, B.C. Their adult and child bedrooms (the latter complete with dollhouse!) at the West Coast Christmas Show promises to be full of cosy vintage-style décor perfect for a home-spun holiday.
whitetail collections. This Chilliwack shop and vintage-rentals service is really and truly the stuff that our vintage Christmas dreams are made of! Owner Raquel Grisnich has an uncanny talent for nostalgic décor, and we’re itching to visit her vintage, dreamy sitting room at the West Coast Christmas Show this weekend (we’ve been obsessing over her Instagram account in anticipation)!
farmgirl rustics. Hailing from Salmon Arm, Farmgirl Rustics offers nostalgia-inducing reclaimed wood furnishings and décor, antique lighting and vintage-style marble coasters (we’ve got our eye on this happy holiday set).
r&r craft corner. From Mission, the R&R Craft Corner booth promises a bounty of soy wax candles and wax melts in a variety of scents and colours, many in antique tea cups and vintage-like mason jars. The seasonal "flavours" we’re swooning over: pumpkin chai, holiday spice and hot apple cider.
the jar girl. Based in Surrey, The Jar Girl / Mason Jar Merchant is an innovative business that offers mason jars both for rent and sale (how chic!). The holiday collection includes unique and quirky seasonal drinking jars, in-jar snow globes and ornaments with a vintage twist that are sure to make the perfect stocking stuffer, hostess or under-the-tree gift!
