Christmas in Yaletown Part 2 (Last Chance to Win!)

December 11, 2017

The first installment in this festive series saw me touring four stellar Yaletown retailers—Dwell Living, Xoxolat, Goorin Bros. and Woo to See You—guaranteed to make your holiday shopping experience more joyful than ever. This time, I headed to Pisolino, Divine Vines, Fine Finds and BeautyMark to meet the proprietors, tour the shops and add new items to my ever-growing wish list (be sure to read to the end to find out how to win an incredible prize package). Trust me, if you’re going to shop anywhere this "Kissmas," make it Yaletown. —Noa Nichol

pisolino. My first impression upon walking into this beautiful home décor store: piles of pillows! After the owners informed me they make just about all of their own products, I proceeded to marvel at the multicoloured cushions, cozy throws and gorgeous linens lining Pisolino’s shelves, and definitely caught a case of "bed envy" admiring the gorgeous displays. Also in stock: Thymes candles in festive and forest-y Frasier Fir and luxurious Manito silk sleepwear any girl would love to receive for Christmas. 1068 Homer St., Vancouver, 604-682-1688, pisolino.com

divine vines. Walking into this bursting-with-blooms plant shop, I made a beeline for Divine Vines’ very famous Grinch Trees—a Dr. Seuss-inspired potted Christmas tree, cheerfully ornamented and available in three sizes—and was delighted to see brand-new snowman arrangements available, too (trust me, it doesn’t get any cuter, bouquet wise, than Frosty made of fresh-cut flowers). There’s plenty of other festive arrangements here, besides, plus gifts to suit every green (and not) thumb in your life. 1024 Mainland St., Vancouver, 604-696-0211, divinevines.ca

fine finds. Talk about a gift store with more (and a strong focus on local and Canadian, too)! From rows upon rows of the sweetest-smelling candles (simply lift a cloche to take a test whiff) to bowlfuls of stackable rings to the coziest winter ponchos (the list goes on), this beautiful boutique has done all the gift-gathering legwork for you—all you need to do is find the "finest" find for every name on your list. I picked up a bacteria-busting copper water bottle that’s sure to make me the envy of my yoga studio, plus a gorgeous Matt & Nat vegan leather backpack with (my fav) rose-gold hardware. 1014 Mainland St., Vancouver, 604-669-8325, finefindsboutique.com

beautymark. Truly a beauty shop to end all beauty shops, the back of my hand was covered with swipes of colour and cream as I tried and tested nearly every product on offer. Among my picks: fabulous sliced fruit and veggie masks (in tomato, lemon and cucumber), sweet-smelling Marshmellow Dead Sea bath salts, Calgary-made Plume lash and brow enhancing serum and pretty much every piece of Pyrrha jewelry in the display case. Oh, the things I could do with a $75 Beautymark gift card (something you could actually win by following the entry info below)! 1268 Pacific Blvd., Vancouver, 604-642-2294, beautymark.ca
