As coffee shop frequenters, we’re always on the lookout for drink options that don’t compromise our health and, while sugar and dairy-free options have become more prevalent in recent years, some cafés are going a step further.
Vancouver-based Blenz Coffee has partnered with another local company to introduce the turmeric latte—a golden, delicious, organic blend of the superfood spice (plus cinnamon, cardamom, ginger and black pepper), almond milk and optional Canadian maple syrup—to its already nutritious menu. Known as nature’s anti-inflammatory, turmeric detoxifies the body, promotes gut health and enhances the use of antioxidants, delaying aging. This addition serves to further build the coffee chain’s rep for being ahead of the pack: it was the first to bring the matcha latte to the mainstream market and offers many forward-thinking food items at its 63 locations across British Columbia.
