Vintage + Veg

August 10, 2018

With several on our team veg (our EIC hasn’t eaten meat since she was five!) the announcement that Vancouver’s internationally renowned vegetarian restaurant, The Acorn, is hosting an exclusive limited-seating long table dinner at Klippers Organics Farm in Cawston, B.C., with wine pairings by neighbouring Orofino Winery on Thursday, August 23rd, 2018, is a very happy one, indeed!

Tickets to this unique five-course dining experience, which will use the finest-quality ingredients grown on the farm with wine pairings selected by Orofino winemaker John Weber, are $120 (tax and gratuity included) and available online. Dinner will be servied family-style, and every aspect of the meal will be prepped that very day in the Klippenstein family kitchen—steps away from the outdoor table setting and within arm’s reach of the farm itself. The Acorn chefs Brian Luptak and Devon Latte will introduce each course while Orofino’s John and Virginia Weber will speak to the pairing and story of the wine. Not only that, the event will be documented for use in The Acorn’s upcoming cookbook published by Penguin Random House, set to release in spring of 2020!

Oh, and for those travelling from out of town, Klippers and Orofino both offer guest suites available for rent on the night of the event. First come, first served! —Noa Nichol
