dress appropriately. Wear loose-fitting, lightweight, light-coloured clothing. Avoid dark colours because they absorb the sun’s rays.
take it easy. Slow down, stay indoors and avoid strenuous exercise during the hottest part of the day (midday to late afternoon).
optimize your windows. Close the windows and use insulated drapes to keep the sun out during the day and open them at night when the sun is down.
stay out of the sun. Take shelter in air conditioned units, and avoid the direct sun as much as possible—especially during the hottest part of the day. Do any essential outdoor jobs early in the morning when it’s cooler.
