With the Christmas party circuit in full swing and our hair in need of doing, Vancouver hair expert Devon Plamondon of Suki’s Salons is sharing step-by-step instructions to help us achieve Lucy Hale’s confetti-dusted updo at home this holiday season! —Vita Daily
step 1. Blowdry your hair smooth. Using a product like Bumble and Bumble Straight Blowdry Creme for coarser hair texture, or Bumble and Bumble Hairdressers Invisible Oil to get your hair smooth and soft.
step 2. Use a flat iron or curling iron to fine tune the ends of your hair how you like.
step 3. Establish where you want your hair to be parted. Using a fine tooth comb and hairspray, smooth out an area to place your hair bling. I like Bumble and Bumble Does It All. It’s light and easy to brush through if you need to change something.
step 4. Use the glitter of your choice along with a gel. Use the gel to paste the glitter/sticker where you like. For smaller forms of glitter mix gel and glitter together in a bowl and apply to the area you like with paintbrush or mascara wand.
step 5. Using a diffuser on your blow dryer, set the gel before you leave the house. You want it to be dry or mostly dry so you don’t have any unnecessary G.R.I.s (glitter-related incidents)!
