Gwyneth Paltrow is back with her cleanest cookbook to date, The Clean Plate, all about cooking with and making food (read: more than 100 recipes and customizable meal plans) that is clean but still fun, tasty and full of flavour.
It goes back to GP’s intent to swap out “toxic triggers,”—foods like alcohol, peanuts, processed foods, meat, nightshades, etc., that are more likely to be associated with inflammatory reactions, sensitivities and digestive issues—for ingredients that are nourishing but still delicious. That said, the Goop founder recommends these top three ingredient swaps to kick-start your cleaner eating program:
> coconut aminos, a soy-free swap for tamari in marinades and dipping sauces;
> chickpea miso, for soy-free miso soups, marinades and dressings; and
> vanilla powder instead of vanilla extract for alcohol-free, vanilla-flavoured puddings and smoothies.
From smoothies, soups and bowls to comforting entrées, snacks and desserts, we’re looking forward to this cookbook making clean eating doable and even fun! —Vita Daily
