Last month we headed to beautiful Abbotsford, B.C., to that city’s international airport, to have brunch in an honest-to-goodness airplane hangar with our friends from Kia Canada. The setting was stunning, the table décor was stellar and the multi-course menu was delish (those buttery croissants!)—but the true stars of the event? The cars.
Kia rolled out a selection of its exciting line of new, redesigned and green vehicles for guests to get up close and personal with, including the Niro EV, Soul, Telluride, Stinger and Forte5.
Among our faves: the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada’s 2019 Car of the Year, the Stinger—a powerful sports and luxury sedan—impressed us with its stunning European design and standard all-wheel drive (not to mention the fact that the available 3.3-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine in the Kia Stinger GT makes it the fastest Kia ever produced).
Also, the Forte, named the AJAC’s 2019 Canadian Best Small Car of the Year, loaded with tech and a total blast to drive (fave features: blind-spot detection, lane-keep assist and wireless charging for our phones!).
Kia’s tagline, "The Power to Surprise," certainly came to life at this event. We can’t wait to take one of these head-turning vehicles for a spin! —Noa Nichol
